Granny Bee. Cousin Jo. The Planet. Want to give to loved ones and to nature? Eco-friendly festivities are just a few clever ideas away. Thanks to our unofficial office green team, the Sheep Dogs, here are our top tips for how to care more and impact less this holiday season.
Support artisans and craftspeople in your hometown to reduce your footprint.
Make a cardboard Christmas tree; use upcycled wreaths; collect pinecones and sprigs of holly instead of using plastic decorations.
Use upcycled or secondhand dishware
If you don’t have enough for your guests, shop for funky dishes at thrift stores and cutlery, and use cloth napkins.
Choose reusable wrapping
Make vintage fabric into gift wrap, secured with a ribbon or knot; give presents in reusable tote bags.
Burn clean candles
Find candles made from beeswax, soy or vegetable wax and avoid paraffin wax.
Buy natural gifts
Merino and TENCEL® fibers are sustainable and natural, giving the wearer a closer experience of nature, and eventually finding their way back to nature.
